So...at the tender age of 51, I've been diagnosed with having a stroke. Been very dizzy for the past few days, and got put in the hospital on Thursday. Seems like all the years of partying hardy have caught up with me (though I haven't partied that hardy for years now) Still want to fall to my left.Hopefully can rehab through it....and hopefully a can-am isn't in the future, but hey.....if need be, it's a ride:)))

So everyone take care of yourself. You never know what the future holds. I will just be very sad if I have to sell my bike so soon after I got it.

Shiny up and rubber down fellow riders :))))

Do whatever the Dr. tells you to do to take care of yourself, for sure! My older sister had a life changing stroke when she was 40 and I've watched her gradual degeneration from that point for the last 19 years. Definitely not something to be taken lightly. :(

Hang in there 12 thoughts and prayers are with you. I am only 57 and had to have neck surgery November the 6th only 9 months ago. Have titanium plates in my neck now. Had to retire but didn't retire my bike. In fact I was back on it before I got my neck brace off. Have to live on pain killers and motorcycle therapy now. So don't give up.

Thanks for all the prayers and well wishes :) I feel lucky it wasn't more severe, but the constant vertigo makes it almost impossible to walk right now. I'm sure it will pass with time. Have spend the next few days in the hospital...we'll see from there.

Sorry about your sister computer...this is definitely a wake up call.

Hey, Urban..I like the training wheels. I never took a riding course, and didn't even know they made training wheels! Makes it kind of hard to maneuver the twisties though:)

Toby..I like the thought of motorcycle therapy, going to miss the smells..good, bad or indifferent :)

Thanks again everyone :)

Give yourself the permission to take time off from riding. I had to sell my Stryker for a more back friendly bike. Even though I haven't been riding much, I still wash and wax her a lot. Just being around the bike is therapy. Re-look at the situation next year and take care of yourself now.

Yep prayers with you and never give up if u have your mind made up that you are going to walk and talk great again it will all come back helped my best friends dad when he had a stroke. Went over to see him everyday to make him talk because he would not leave the house I guess embarrassed but he finally got it all back and normal again. He rides a 900 v star. You can get through it just never get up!
