Anyone know how to remove the plastic chrome tank trim that surrounds the gas cap ? I'd like to paint it and possibly see if I can rig a garage door opener under there.

Thanks

Hey Flem, We removed this piece on our two Strykers with no issues. They are stuck on with double sided tape. You need to remove the gas cap, you can use a heat gun or if it's not to cold in your shop, just try to get your fingers under the lower part and start lifting it up.

When you do get it off you can use a little gas to get off the excess sticky tape. I think you'll see when the cover is off that the gas cap sticks up a little bit off the tank. We do have a Octagon shape cover that helps make the gas cap look a little less out of place.

The ones you see on our Custom bikes are made from Stainless steel and are very expensive $200, or we have them out of fiberglass that are $50 with a glossy black finish for the Forum members.

Let us know we would be glad to help you out.

Thanks LM - guess it's easier than I expected ! Your fiberglass surround looks interesting but I'm also considering replacing the gas cap with a Barons Profiler ( if it'll fit ) which, with the trim removed, would make the tank really streamlined.

Yeah, I took another look at it and I see what you mean about it being raised up higher than normal. Do you have the black, octagon covers available now ? They don't show up as available to order on your website.

Do you have an ETA on when the radiator cover will be available ? I really like the look of that.

Also, any chance you guys will offer a foot control extension ? I'd love to be able to stretch out another 4 or 5 inches.

Flem.

Well, we do have the tank trim piece, but we have held off on putting products on our website intill we get a third Stryker. This is supposed to happen next week. When we made the two bikes we did not get a chance to take install pictures and video, before and after product install, because the build was so fast. So we are a little behind at the moment but we do have product, just no good instructions on install.

Once we get our third bike we will be able to check fit everything, make instructions and start offering product.

Thanks for your interest.

Yeah, we will be working on getting this item up for sale very soon. We just got our Third Stryker in, which we will be doing all of our install videos and more pictures. Don't think we will have a good example on a Blue bike unless you purchase one.
Here's the good news..... Every new product we release, we will first offer it on the forum as a new product pre-order discount. Stay tuned as we start releasing all of these products. You guys will see them and get them first. We are also offering a $75 discount when purchasing the New Vance and Hines Big Shot exhaust from us.

I agree, That would be neat to hide garage door opener under there.

I put a opener in the gloss black panel under my right cheek. Wired a small black momentary switch to the opener.
