Tell your story on how you decided to buy a Stryker! Feel free to let us know how you agreed on a price, and anything else you think is interesting at your time of purchase. Like me, when i bought my Raider, they have you ride it thru the showroom, and on the floor is what looks like a roadway painted leading out the front door!!
I can't say much more, otherwise I would be off topic, with a Raider, and not a Stryker. ;D

I had a Honda Shadow and was out shopping for a new helmet, i walked by the Stryker and was like "wow thats nice, what is it?" looked at the tag and went home to look it up on the web. I then decided my Shadow was too small (having hit my rev limiter at least once a week). 2 weeks later i bought my Stryker. I've had it a week now. Already chopped the rear fender to move the plate higher and the lowering kit should be here today. Got the dog bones and im gonna start at the 2" and see if it bottoms out.

I've had sportbikes for the last 6 years, and decided it was time for a change. I seen a few I liked at the Montreal bike show in February. Started shopping locally 6-7 weeks ago. I was originally looking at a 2010 Vulcan Custom SE and a 2011 Honda Shadow Phantom. I sat on the Honda and found it too small but the Kawi was a good fit. Then a buddy saw the Stryker at the Yammie dealer and called me up to let me know. I fished through the photos I took at the bike show and I had one of it. I even posted it on Facebook saying that "this could quite possibly be my next bike."

I went to a few Yam dealers in town (luckily we have 3) and checked it out in person. I instantly though "Wow this is way better than the Vulcan!" I sat on it and that was it...SOLD. I would've drove it home that day, but the sales guy was honest and mentioned that it had a tiny dent in the tank from someone dropping a tool or something. I checked it out and sure enough it was there, but barely noticeable. He would not knock off any more $$$ but offered 2 year extended warranty for free. I said no I want a mint one. They ordered it and I began to wait...and wait...and wait.

3.5 weeks later (2 days ago) it came in. We redid the paperwork and he threw in the 2 year extended waranty for waiting so long. It was built and PDI'd ready to go yesterday - Enter major Thunderstorm. Today looks better, so hurry up 5PM!!!!!!!!!

Well. I went to this motorcycle show in January. It was mostly accessories and clothing but then I noticed the Hooters girls standing next to this bike. It was awsome at first sight and then I noticed the bike. It was awsome as well. I had no intention of buying a bike or anything else for that matter, but I came home and I couldn't get them out of my mind and I couldn't get the bike out of my mind either. I made some calls and found a dealer that offered me a test ride and I bought it ( the black on) on February 15. I still can't get the Hooters girls out of my mind but I love the bike. Got 1144 miles on it already. I'm 63. Is it OK for me to ogle the Hooters girls ???

In January I visited the Local yamaha dealer here to look at snowmobile helmets for our daughter. Being I love Blacked out themes, the Raven one caught my eye. It was pure sexiness. I left dreaming of one day having it. So after stopping back and checking it out with friends and family a million times to get opinions, I just had to have it. If the bike could've filed a harassment suit, I would've been first in line to get it. ;)
I bought it with no test drive at all. :) I have always been a Yamaha fan, so it was natural to stick with them.

I have only put sixty miles on it, but have gotten tons of compliments and attention already. Lots of "Is that a harley?" lol

Trip 1: drove klr to dealer to find new jacket. Saw stryker ,drooled. Sat on Stryker then drove back home. Trip 2: 30" later back to dealer looking for Stryker info. Got info. Asked by dealer if I wanted to take it out. Me: no I'm on call and won't hear my phone. Drove klr home again. Trip 3 : read info, cruised the net. 30" later went back to bike shop. Said screw it I'll go for test drive. No one will die in 12 " if I miss a call :). Took test drive. Sat down wth sales guy and said I'll trade klr. He thru me his picup keys and said can u find your title. Trip 4 : back to shop drop of guys truck, go for 30 mile ride on my 2 mile ride home. Happy as a lark

I saw the pictures online and thought it looked like a nice bike. I was originally looking for a used warrior, so I had my yamaha dealer keeping an eye out, i also told him to let me know when the stryker came in. He called, went down to the toy store, sat on it and had to have it. Called the wife, said "hey, i want this bike can a put a hold on it?" Now my wife is a smart woman, but missed this one completely so said yes. Went home grinning ear to ear telling my friend how i just bought a new bike. Wife: "you said you put a hold on it, not bought it" Me: "yeah, this is not like kohls, you put a hold on a motorcycle you are buying it" Wife: "You better not ask for any more toys this year" End of story, got my new bike and do not regret the decision at all:) Her confusion is my benefit.

Interesting story I guess but me and the wife have been toying with me getting a cruiser for a while. I have a CBR1000 already so we decided I needed another bike (I don't know how she went along with this but man I love her). The first weekend we seriously started looking around I decided to call my pops. Told him I was looking for another bike and asked him what he was up to. No joke he is driving to his local Yamaha dealer to look at getting another bike for himself as well. He can't remember the name of it but tells me about this awesome looking new Yamaha cruiser. I thought he was talking about the Raider (which I almost bought last year). The next day I visit the Yamaha dealer and the Raven Stryker is the first thing I see. There is a such thing as love at first sight. Right there I decided this bike will be mine by the weekend. Very glad I didn't go the opposite direction the day before and end up leaving with a new Aprilia Dorsoduro. I call my Pops again and he clarified that this is the bike he was referring to and he was buying the Blue one. I bought mine that next weekend. Called the old man a few days later to rub it in his face and get him all fired up to buy one. Well Pops beats me again because not only did he to see the black (yeah he forgot all about the blue once he saw the Raven in person) and bought it right there, but he got it a little cheaper! Guess it's true though like father like son!

That's pretty cool! My dad loves mine and my wife's bikes, but he'd never spend that much on one. He tends to buy used. He currently has a Yamaha Virago 1100 from the 90s. He's content with it.

Just an added note... You would not have regretted choosing the Raider.

My girlfriend and I went to the dealer to buy oil for her bike and mine. I was looking at the raider for the last couple years just have never puller the trigger on buying one yet. I seen the back version of the Stryker and loved it, sat on it and it felt great. The sales guy told me to look at the blue one in the back because that one was all seviced. He came out with a plate and made me take it for a ride, it was 35 deg out. By the time I came back my girlfriend decided to fill out the credit appl. So she bought the bike for me. Only catch was, she get my old bike, 05 c50. What a great deal. lol
