I"ve had a couple PM's asking me about this, so I thought it was deserving of its own thread. This way everyone can use and find the info.

Here's a link to the thread where szabla says he's been using the $.05 cent cruise control O ring.
http://www.yamahastarstryker.com/index.php/topic,2532.0.html

Its explained there with pictures, but a couple have PM'ed me and this is the info I gave them. Just want to post so all the fourm users can see it..This was my relpy to the PM's

The O ring size is width 1/8" , I.D. 1-1/16", O.D. 1-5/16" I have a pack here and the name brand is O-TITE

Once you get the O ring on your grip you'll see just what to do. I roll the O ring on the end cap of the grip, and there it stays untill I want to set the cruise. To do that you simply roll the O ring into the slot where the throttle tube (rubber grip) ends. Then just twist the throttle to the desired speed and your crusie is set. The O ring causes just enough restiance to maintain the position you set it to.

When you want to release it, just roll it out of the slot and your done. This size O ring dosen't fit all the way in the slot and thats what makes it so easy to roll in and out (not flush in the slot)...

Hope this helps cause it sure does feel good to relax that throttle hand from time to time. Really cheap solution to have cruise on the Stryker. Plus on long roads around town, I use it just to maintain a certian speed cause I know the po-po like to hang and pas out green stamps...lol ;)

I work with different sized o-rings all day long, You should be able to go to any parts store and pick them up relatively cheaply. You can ask for the dimensions given above or for a size 215 o-ring. Get the cheapest one they have, probably a Buna-N.

I found the exact size at my local ACE Harware store. The O-rings were in the plumbing section. But I haven't tried it yet. Maybe with the warm weather this weekend I will have to give it a try. I think I paid $0.50 for each one.

I have it on mine and I love it. I ended up making my own o-ring because I was having trouble finding the right size. One size would be too small and would be hard to get out of the slot when riding, and another would be too big where it would vibrate loose. So I made my own and it fits perfectly.
