There has been a lot of discussion about this topic. Whats the best lowering kit for the Stryker if I am going ot keep the stock tire? Id like to lower it about 1 to 2 inches. Has anyone had any issues with scraping and visibility after lowering while keeping the stock tire?

My understandin the Low & Mean PCS is the main vendor offering a lowering kit. With this link, you have the option of lowering the bike 1" or 2.5". With the stock 210 you are fine either way. When you start adding larger diameter tire you may have to make adjustments to the lowering link/spring.

Pricewise you can't beat the PCS Lowering links. Best ride, I'm going to guess the 1" lowering Progressive shock which will allow any tire combination.

Hey Toby there's a sticky thread on the PCS lowering links at the top of the "Mods and Accessories" page. All kinds of good stuff for you to read

What have I bought then? Just the spring? Did you just buy both kits to see which you preferred?
Weren't you looking to lower the bike?
My understanding is the spring provides a better ride when under load. If there is no load, there isn't much difference

I think the spring I have is shorter so will lower it 1 inch. It is on the L&M website. Don't thi k it is the progressive one.
Maybe someone else can chime but I don't think it does lower the bike.

PROGRESSIVE SUSPENSION

Progressive springs are not the same a a standard "straight weight" spring. Many companies offer stiffer springs, which can help with load carrying capacity, but greatly degrade the ride when riding solo or unloaded. This is because a standard straight weight spring only delivers one spring rate, from unloaded to fully loaded (or compressed). While a straight weight spring may ride and feel fine when your bike is loaded, the stiffness of the spring creates a less comfortable ride, and poorer control when riding solo.

A Progressive rated spring is much the opposite. Our progressive springs offers a softer more controlled spring rate (825 lbs) when the bike is being ridden solo on a smooth road. This softer spring rate will absorb medium and smaller bumps much better than a more rigid straight rate spring. This softer rate also allows your wheel to stay in more constant contact with the road, and will provide a much better rebound rate (basically the speed at which the spring uncompresses, or how fast it returns to full length--- basically how hard the spring tries to eject you off the bike!!!). But when you bike is loaded (with a passenger, or luggage etc) the progressive spring will automatically progressively increase is spring pressure up to 1250 as needed (you don't need to do anything). This higher spring pressure provided will resist bottoming out, sagging, and dive when hitting large bumps, stopping or in corners and will noticeable improve your bikes control and comfort.

Furthermore, because straight weight spring manufacturers attempt to compromise between comfort, and performance, they will never be able to give you the full rate that a Progressive spring will provide, 1250 lbs!!! Why, because if you installed a 1250 straight weight spring, your ride would be so rigid you would feel every bump, and your wheels would easily skip (or jump) when going over small to medium bumps. And if you hit a large bump while riding solo, be sure your chiropractor is ready because your back is going to take a pretty big jolt. This won't happen with our Progressive rated spring. Our progressive rate spring provides everything a straight weigh spring can provide and MUCH more without compromise! Because when your out riding either solo or with a passenger, a compromise is the last thing you want.

It isn't the progressive spring, just the lowered one.
Is it on the website somewhere? I'd be interested in seeing the difference between the links and spring

Dreadly, found this on a previous topic:

The Low and Mean Lowered Spring for the Star Stryker is a great way to improve the looks and ride height. We are going to offer everyone a $50 credit that is interested in changing their stock spring for our lowered one. This $50 credit will be applied after you ship us your stock spring. You'll get to use this credit on your next order of $200 or more. There's some more great stuff on the horizon that I hope will help you make it your own. We want to thank everyone again for your support. Here's a link to our Star Stryker Lowered Spring product page http://www.lowandmean.com/index.php...tegory_id=106&option=com_virtuemart&Itemid=60
