Sorry in advance...

Hi all, I just bought my Stryker on Sept 26th. I'm sad to say, I was cut off by some a-hole and already had to ditch it... There was no where I could go. There is a scrape and slight dent on the tank, left passenger foot peg is all beat up, front left foot peg broke off (I'm put the passenger foot peg on the front so I could ride it home), the tip of the handlebar, mirror, and clutch are banged up. Clutch is bent but still works fine... And the rear led turn signal has a large scratch on it. All in all, not as horrible as it sounds... I still ride it around, I just ride so everyone sees the right side lol. I need to check and see if I'll be saving myself by using my insurance or just fixing it out of pocket. I need to get an estimate. Anyway... I'm still alive. Broken ribs and all bruised up. No road rash except on my heel.

Does anyone know if I can just buy a new tank already painted (blue) would be cheaper than getting the existing tank fixed and painted... I can take care of the rest myself.

Welcome, really sucks about the ditch. But will all bad comes good. I got rear ended back in 2011 and and look at my bike now. Insurance money helped alot lol. Aftermarket parts are cheaper and better looking than stock. My bike looked just like urs back then ( minus the damage lol)

Dam, sorry to hear your luck but welcome to the forum, good luck on your repairs, I would suggest starting a thread with the parts you need, you'll be shocked how quick ya get em and how cheaply, great bunch of folks here

Glad you are OK. In the end that's all that really matters.

Like others have said, besides the tank most of the other damage looks minor and things like the grips and pegs are high probability replacement items anyway so sort of a wash there. You're just maybe going aftermarket shopping sooner than planned!

Thanks everyone! I started to look up parts on Yamaha's site... Not going there again for anything. And I like your idea about the parts thread. I'm going to make a list.
