A bit of an over reaction - we don't know the whole story... looks like he is on a back road.. going slow.. For me - growing up out on the farm - We rode in the back of pickup trucks, in cars with no seat belts... I ran around on farm equipment all the time - was riding by age 10, driving by age 12 - shooting / hunting about that same age as well.

This world is too coddled for me - everyone is too pc'd / bubble wrapped! F-That!

So, if this dad - wants to take his kids for a back road ride, going slowly... I say more power to him - back off ya bunch of pansy's!

Now - if he's on a busy street and going over 15 mph - then ya.. there's problems.

so until we know the rest of the story -....

Helmets - pfaw! rode bicycles, skate boards, roller skates etc.. etc..as a kid, all without pads, or helmets... oh sure we got our bumps and bruises, spraines and breaks on occasion - but it was worth it... taught us alot. mainly to get back up and do it again! it's only a bit of skin / blood & some pain.... quit whinning bout it.. get back up - have some fun, do it again... or get back to work (mostly on the farm).

And no.. I do not wish to discuss the whole Helmet thing on our Cycle's - different thread... different time... =) bet ya can guess how i feel bout it tho.. LOL!

Yeah, thats half the problem with the world today. Everybody has to be so P.C. and everyone is so mollycoddled.

I say what is on my mind, regardless of who it offends. I treat everyone equally and don't pander to anyone because they think they are "special".

Kids today have a reality check waiting for them. Life's a ***** and they are going to find out the hard way without learning any of life's lessons in advance.

Trust me I'm not trying to be overcritical of this guy at all. I'm sure he was just putting around in a safe manner...I thought it was more funny than anything so I thought I'd share. My dad used to do this type of thing on his dirt-bike with me all the time. He had a 1976 Yamaha XT500 and he'd sit me up on the gas-tank and I'd hold on to the handlebar crossbar and we'd go riding around our land...was so fun! Also, I used to ride in the back of pickups and lay in the back dash of our Buick Regal regularly...super fun!

Yeah, and we should probably put helmets on kids in a shopping cart at the grocery store. Those wobbly wheels might break off and toss the kid to the linoleum. :tsk:

Wait... I see women jogging with those big wheel strollers and there are no helmets on those kids either, Someone should take those kids away from their irresponsible mothers.

Just yesterday I saw a kid running to his house from the school bus. Doesn't he know what could happen if he tripped and fell?
He could hurt himself... He'd better have pads and a helmet next time I see him running.

From the very minute amount of dust coming off the rear tire I would guess the rider is going very slow on that dirt road/driveway and the kids are probably having the best time of their life, something they'll never forget!!

Sorry for the rant, I'm done now!

My Dad used to pull me and my brother on 2 separate saucers behind his pickup around Factory out back in the Snow when we were very young. Never forget those days. People would be calling 911 and reporting him nowadays. LOL

That just reminded me of what we did... cept we did it with old VW hoods out in the fields hooked up behind the pickup! What a blast... and your right.. we'd be in lock up waiting for child protection services! crazy!

I'm fine with it. I assume he isn't on a public road etc. and that the kids were cautioned to not get out blah, blah, blah.

Don't get me wrong, I'm Suzy Safety on a lot of things like full face helmets and loud colors but this is A-OK to me. Yes, the worst could happen but that is the case each and everytime one of us gets on a bike. Just had a lady cut me off yesterday because someone turned into a gas station in front of her. Had she swerved into all of my lane I wouldn't be typing this... Clutch/cover/swerve helped/saved me and then told her she was #1 but I'm pretty sure nothing changed. Had she steamrolled me then maybe she would have changed her driving habits but everyone is in such a rush, texting and the like:( If it weren't for the obvious police involvement I'd seriously consider carrying a paintball gun and letting people know when they did something stupid!!!!!!
The encounter did motivate me to accelerate the Wolo horn install and if that doesn't do the trick I'm going to train horns to get the F'ing cager's attention.
