Hello,

I am getting prices on the 2013 Stryker. I’m going to buy in another 4 to 6 weeks at most.

I was wondering if having to fill up every 110-120 miles gets annoying to any of you?

My current ride has a 5.3 gallon tank that gives me 190 miles until the fuel light comes on and then can go up to about 230 miles or so before fill up. I fill up shortly after the light goes on.

Having to fill up around 120 miles on the Stryker will take some getting used to.

I haven’t seen under the seat yet. I guess there is no way of getting a bigger fuel cell in there?

I have liked the Stryker since I purchased three years ago, just before the Stryker was at the dealers.

Any thoughts?

Thanks

My previous bike I got 75-100 mi/tank. So this is an upgrade. Mileage for this bike doesn't bother me. Plenty of gas stations where I ride and it's good to take a break after 100 miles.

I have 2013 and never focused on the mpg until I ran out of gas. So I been waiting to see how far I go on miles before I fill up. I've been having a sucky as* time to get there cause of this off the wall changes of weather here in Virginia Beach

Well, range may be a valid consideration if you do long distance traveling or ride in areas where gas stations are few and far between. For me, a fillup after 100 miles is a welcome respit after the time in the saddle. I met a guy with a BMW adventure bike that was fitted with a 9 or 10 gallon tank. The extra fuel made the bike very top-heavy, he said. Thus , he never put more than 5 or 6 gallons in it. ;D

I still miss the larger 5-ish gallon tank of my former bike. Someday, I'd love to drop a larger, custom tank on the Stryker. Someday.

It doesn't bother me at all. I make it a habit to fill her up at the last 1/4 tank reminder comes on. But yes, a welcome break, but for long ridesI am considering a gel seat cover...
i have a great deal of natural padding back there but in the past on other bikes i have used and Airhawk for longer rides, much better to me than the gel pads because you can adjust on the fly and they don't get hot

I could do for a longer range. My bike is my main commuter, and at 130 miles round trip I stop at the gas station daily. Usually with the fuel light on, using about 3.2-3.6 gallons depending on how hard I ride it. The one thing I miss about having a car is only filling up every third day.

I think the furthest I've gone on it is about 160 miles and I was coasting on fumes. But that was before all the mods and the car tire. It eats more gas now.

The honda shadow 700 I had in years past would do the same miles with less than 2.5 gallons, but it was a gutless bugger.

Once upon a time, I kept three gas cans full at home so I could make it through a work week without stopping. I work long hours so it seemed worth it for a while. But I eventually realized its easier and faster to stop at a pump.

Wow I must be really hammering it. My 1/4 tank reminder comes on at or before 100 miles and it's completely stock. I was more conservative on the throttle on this last tank and not much difference. I think I read on here somewhere that the mpg's increased after they drilled their stock exhaust.

Do you put the high octane fuel?
