Alright ladies and gentlemen. I've searched and haven't found anything on the subject so I need some advice. I have a 2011 stryker with a throttle sticking issue. Now, when the bar are turned all the way to the left the throttle twists smooth and returns back to "home" position quickly when released. When the bar is turned all the way to the right and you twist the throttle it hangs at full throttle and won't return until you twists it back. With the bar straight it returns about half way "home" and sticks. So basically with the bars all the way to the left it's normal throttle operation and the more you turn the bars right the more the grip sticks. I've tried multiple sets of grips and I get the same results. Anyone else have this problem or maybe some advice?

Hard to say without being there and seeing it in person but since it hangs up when in certain degrees of turn/off center I'd look closely at the cable to see if it is pinched, bent or came off a hold down/connector etc.

And just so we are all up to speed did this behavior just start happening or did you do something like change out the grips etc. Not trying to access blame but it helps to know if any mods were done recently since things do happen...

It's done it since I've own it. Bought it a little over a year ago. Cables aren't pinched and are free moving.
You should have taken it back to the dealer if it's been doing since day one....you should take it back to the dealer now. The throttle sticking can turn out really bad at the wrong time.

True roadkill, I wish I could. It was one of those bad deals from a worse dealer. I purchased it used so it was an as is thing. Didn't notice before I brought it home. Hasn't been a major problem as I've put about 2k miles on it since include a one day 600 mile ride. But still something I would like to sort out. I guess I could take it to another dealer I trust to look at it. Just wondering if anyone else had any of the same issues.

While reading your thread I was wondering if maybe the pre joys user added the shim tithe throttle side for cruise control or if maybe the cable is in the wrong position it should be bowed out to the front of the bike not in tight against the forks

Man I'm sorry but I've got to go a little Safety Suzy on you for this one. A year????? I'm not saying people do all the checks they are supposed to each and every ride but even if you did it once a month if would have failed. Sucky day but if after snapping the throttle it doesn't return or hesitates then its a no riding day period.

Take it to the dealer and have a mechanic look at it. Best guess is that the original owner messed up the grip replacement one way or another.

Riding is inherently dangerous in and of itself without adding to that by having a bike that has a throttle issue.
Ride safe my friend and get this checked out soon.
