Ok so I'm leaning toward buying the 240 since my speedometer is off nad I like the look of filling the wheel well, but I'm having a hard time pushing the buy it button since I can't seem to find the answers I'm looking for. I've looked through a lot of post on the 240 but after the first 50 or so it makes more sense just to ask. So here is my question:

Will the suspension require any adjustment with a 240? I have already knocked it up 3 notches due to being fat and may have to bump it all the way up to 9 if the old lady decides to ride with me.

I don't have any plans to put the lowering kit on so I'm curious as to what I should be ready to expect in terms of setting it up with a 240 and adjusted for 2 people (450#'s give or take... )

I've got the 250 Avon and I'm lowered 1", wife and I go about 425 since I'm a chunky butt too, can't imagine you having issues with 450 and a 240 if you don't lower it, may need to trim the beaver tail or go with a side mount plate and/or trim the belt guards

For the 240 Avon- Trimming the belt guard only includes a small 1/8" rib at top and bottom inner side of lower belt guard where the tire will slightly rub. Perfect time to do the trimming is when you have tire/wheel off bike. Had to do it on Son's Stryker just this week. He had not removed his Beaver tail yet either and all was fine. You would also be fine with lowering bike 1-1/2" with L&M lowering spring with the 240 Avon and be fine. Avon 250 or Metz 260 will need a little more work.

No, but you can with a widened rim. CBRMatt has done it at his business (Performance Edge)( They are also the people that will chrome your stock rims) and it is in pics of photo Gallery. Just go to most watched in gallery and wont have to search down very far to find it.
