Although the o2 mod did smooth out all the other gears when giving very light throttle, I noticed that first gear is still jerky. Those with an auto tuner does it really make a difference in fixing it or is it the lash clearance in the transmission?

Check to make sure you don't have too much throttle cable freeplay. You must have some, but too much will make the throttle figgity. The autotuner would hely immensely with this problem. I found as other have- that the 30 tooth front sprocket from a vstar1300 makes the bike much better in city traffic and eliminates the chugging.

If im having to hold at about 15mph mine still sucks, took to dealership, called cobra, read online, and doesnt seem to have a solution, i just try not to hold 1st gear too long.

Howdy

Hi everyone, Ive been lurking for a while and thought I would post up from Iowa.

I did the mod to and it cleared up a lot of little things I hated, I also had some issues with first, but since taking out the throttle play (was a lot after 2000 miles) it's pretty smooth now.

Next thing is to get that fat rear tire and ditch the fugly tail light.

Anyone needs resistors I have about 90 of them, we can work out a cheap deal lol.

This board is great BTW!

As any Stryker owner will tell you, the bike runs best at higher rpms. In order to get a v-twin 1300 engine to do what many 1600-1800 engines will do thru mid and top range we have to give up something. I run a 240 Dunlop E3 and cobra autotuner, cobra powerflo intake, with gutted cat stock exhaust. I do not have much chugging now but do have some laboring in first gear if that makes sense. No surging but with the tallest 240 made, 1st gear is bad ratio. I do believe that once I change to a 30 tooth front sprocket, the bike will be at it's very best.

No auto tune here, however, I did the 30T gear first and that took care of alot of the problem. I then added the O2 mod and its like a new ride at those lower speeds. Highly recommend both from my experience.
