On the way home from work today(since i drive through the country) I tried to keep up with a stupid dodge caliber that was "2 Fast 2 Furious". He took off around me so I naturally grabbed my throttle and went after him. I quickly caught up but once I hit 110mph I felt like the bike was not wanting to move any faster and I know I was in 5th gear. Anyone else experience this?

Mine never had much trouble. But getting to those speeds on this bike are nothing like on a crotch rocket. 120 was comfortable when cruising down the interstate.

Have you installed a tuner?

I do have an auto tuner, but you make a good point about the crotch rockets. all my previous bikes were rockets except the 650r and even that kinda was. I seem to get up to 115 on this bike pretty well even though it is at a higher rpm.

I had that same issue. I have hit 130 easily twice on my bike. so I know it will do it. But one time It seamed to work hard to hit 115 and the motor deffenetally sounded louder and felt rougher. After shutting it off and looking it over and starting it again it sounded fine and about 15 minutes later it did it again. Definite loss of power. This all took place on a 200 mile ride. I was changing altitude drastically in little amount of miles and a 50 to 60 degree change in temps when it happened. What was your conditions? I have since tested it again one time and hit 130. But haven't tested it under the same circumstances. Like after a hr or more of riding. Haven,t had a chance to try it again and don't know when I will. Kind of think it was a tank of bad gas or maybe a he-cup in the EFI system.

I was riding down a pretty flat road. Granted the temp was dropping from 90 to 75 but colder air usually increases mpg. Maybe I have babied her too much. Only 1600 miles so far and I usually ride for max mpg

why would cold air increase mph?

He wrote MPG but the same thing applies. Colder air is more dense so it has more oxygen molecules than the same volume of warm air. Gasoline needs oxygen to burn.

Interesting thread… last weekend I took a run down a long back-country road where I had hit 180+ on my GSXR1100 many years ago. It is a long, straight, gradually sloping downhill that eventually levels off and climbs back up hill. I made 2 passes on my bone-stock Stryker and the needle stopped short of 130mph, and as the downhill leveled off the speed quickly declined as the bike ran out of horsepower. Since I already know my speedo gives a false +5 reading I estimate I never got above 124mph. I’ll be running this same test after I get the pipes/air/power com. Installed.

Keep eye out for any that look like this one. This is my 2008 Dodge Caliber SRT-4 and it's all stock on the outside. They come stock with 285 crank HP and with $500 dollar ECM stage 1 upgrade it puts out 300HP and TQ to the wheels and tops out at 165 mph. Stage 1 runs mid 13s in the quarter and gets 30+ mpg on the freeway. Not a bad combo.

The false +5 MPH indicated reading is what you typically see around the 50-70 MPH range. It's actually a percentage inaccuracy so the degree of inaccuracy depends on the speed your traveling. At the speeds you were going it was probably more like 10-13 MPH off what you were indicating.

10-13mph off… Nice. So this bike stock has a top end below 120. What the **** is the point of having a 1,300cc fuel injection engine if it can’t out run a Preuss?.. I don’t get it.
LOL I'm not sure how fast a Prius will go but i guaran-****-tee you the Stryker will get to top speed a helluva lot quicker

The wife and I hit 115mph according to my GPS... 120mph as per Speedo.... my speedo is a pretty consistant 5mph high. we had no issue maintaining that speed (I do have the autotuner)... the Stryker had more... I was not going to push it much harder with my wife on the back though...
