I've read a ton of posts on these 2 mods. I'm really having trouble deciding between them. Sometimes the stock setup starts to feel cramped on long rides. I want to stretch some and drape my heels over the pegs. But I'm hesitant to feel too stretched out all the time. I thought the swingwing pegs were the answer but after reading the posts...it seems a toss up. Some people swear by them and others (maybe a little more than half) have taken them off because they scrape easy on Strykers.

Price-wise, it will cost me $25 more for the wings & adapters vs the forward controls. Bike is stock height and I do not plan to lower. I rarely encounter twisty roads, mostly freeway and around town. But if the pegs scrape a lot just making casual turns I wouldn't get them. Seems the forward controls are a no brainer for 6' foot plus folks. But I'm 5'9, 33 inch inseam and maybe in the gray area of fitment. I'd appreciate any input.

I have also considered these two options. I'm 5'8" kinda . There are times that I would really like to stretch out more, but not too much. I have never riden with the swing wings, but I sat on a Sabre that had them, and I liked the feel. I would worry about the forward controls being too far out for me. I do understand the concern with pegs scraping. I ride with boots on and the peg rests in the gap forward of the heels. When I take 90 degree turns, my heel scrapes a bit. When I do interstate interchanges at 60+, my heel will scrape the whole time (if I don't raise it). I also plan on lowering by bike 2". If i do anything, I will go with the swing wings. Just my 2 cents.

Ok, I'll give the forward controls a go. Of course that will still leave me wanting nicer looking pegs...but maybe not the swingwings...and lowering...didn't plan on it, yet. Maybe after the 240...but thats probably next year. Doh, must concentrate on one thing at a time. My poor truck needs parts but I keep buying MC stuff. Life is good. :loco:
