I'm not ashamed to admit this... Relays confuse the he|| outta me.

I'm looking at the wiring diagram and from what I can tell

Brown wire is the 12V supply
Black wire is Ground (don't know why this is needed)
White wire is the input from the speed sensor (for the self cancelling feature)
Brown/White wire is the load
Yellow/Red wire = NO IDEA (possible wiring for hazard lights?)

I'm going to wire in a 2-pin electronic flasher relay (done this twice before on previous bikes) and will only be using Brown and Brown/White. If it works I'll let everyone know. Yes I'll lose the auto cancel. I don't care. I've done without it for 12 years now.

These are for slowing down the blink rate back to normal for the LEDs.

True but $60 + $30 to ship it to me is unacceptable when I can get the same effect for $5 with a relay.

Looks like my earlier hypothesis may be correct with regards to the y/r wire. I have also confirmed with a test light that the b/w wire is the load. So a 3-pin relay should work perfect.

I really hope you figure this out. I have seen it done on cars so know your on the right track. I too would rather use the relay, less heat and cost.

I'm curious if anyone has replaced only their front OR rear signals but left the others if they had the fast flash. The relay says 23Wx2+LED so it may work if that's all you want to do.
