Ive been doing some window shopping, and I've narrowed it down to VH. But im torn between getting the 2-2 big radius and the black twin staggered. Whats yall's opinion on the two?? If anybody has a side by side comparision pic to post, that would be great.

Not to hijack the thread but....

Bane I bought the VH big radius from more power racing got it yesterday.... There was no hardware in the box like the LM video shows.... is that hardware a LM thing? I don't have clamps, bolts, the cover, anything, just the pipes, mufflers, and 5 heat shields.

Should I call these guys up?

Strykeraf I'm in the same boat as you are. I really like the look of both systems but after much consideration I'm leaning heavily towards the Twin Slash Staggered. I love blacked out exhaust and it would be MUCH more expensive to buy the Big Radius and then have them coated to get that finish. I've also read a lot about the rear cylinder pipe protruding out too much on the Big Radius and interfering with leg room. Since I'm only 5'8" i think that would be a problem for my legs as they tend to ride snug against the bike as it is. For myself money is definitely a consideration so I've gotta get the best bang for my buck and i think the Twin Slash Staggered will do that for me.

Yes you are missing hardware. Give morepowe racing a call they are great to deal with, its not their screw as the exhaust is shipped directly from vance and hines.

Hi Bane. A little off topic. How do you like the sound of the radius? Is it loud when you are just cruising? I love the wrap around the pipes, that's the look I would like. Thanks
I love the sound of both systems. It is not to loud while cruising and screams when you get on it.

I love the look of the Big Radius. I think it is perfect for the Stryker. However the cost is prohibitive right now, especially since I want it in black. It would help a lot if V&H would come out with the BR in black at a decent price. L&M is charging $200 extra to black the pipes which puts them out of reach for me. I might even look at someone to make custom pipes for me similar to these http://www.motorcycle-superstore.co...rmance-Sharp-Curve-Radius-Exhaust-System.aspx L&M wants $829 for the black BR, and I bet I can get custom pipes for less locally, especially since they won't have to be chromed. I will probably talk to some ppl at Bike Week to see what custom pipes will cost. Sticking with stock for now.

Ratboy; Only problem with custom made pipes is your never going to get that sweet sound note that the Vance and Hines gives you. I'm in the same boat. A little bit to much cost right now, but it'll be worth the wait.

There are lot of different baffles available out there that can be experimented with. It will be interesting to check on during bike week. There will be lots of custom bike builders there as usual and they are usually happy to start up the bikes to hear the sound. It will be fun to talk to them and get some advice.

This got me thinking about V&H. I don't know what their process is, but simply put, they make the heat shields and take them to chrome (in-house or outsourced, I am not sure). They already have some of their pipes black ceramic coated - how hard would it be to take some BR to be black coated? It just can't be that difficult. I have read on here that some ppl have called them about it. Is V&H just too big to listen to their customers? If so, I'm not sure I want to give them my money anyway.

does anybody know if there is a difference in sound and performance between the two? do the shorter pipes provide a deeper sound then the big radius? or the other way around?
I spoke to V&H when I purchased my pipes and I remember them saying the big radius are a 105 decibels and the slash staggered were 95. I went with the staggered bc of the price comparison and bc I was worried about the leg room. I love them! I definitely rider harder out of the hole bc is sounds so good. Thought after the newness wore off I would stop but its three months later and it still gives me giggles.

you would think so but, I believe bending the pipe would give you a little more back pressure. That helps with the exhaust tone.

The Twin Slash Stagger's are true 2 into 2 with no cross over tube... they have a nice rumble at idle... great cruising sound... when you crack open the throttle... it outright screams attention!
