Installed my v&h twin slash last nite and love it....If you are on the fence buy them....The look and sound is awesome but have a question for those that have them as well..I took out the baffles and it's crazy loud (in a good way) I'm thinking about ordering the competition baffles and wondered if anyone else did and was wondering if anyone knows which baffles came in the pipes? are they the quiet ones or???? I like the sound with the stock baffles but did not think it was loud enough...I was thinking about taking the white cotton material off the baffles to see if it would make them louder? Has anyone else done this? If so how much louder was it? Just looking for some input......

My understanding is they ship with the standard baffle but you may wanna give V&H a shout to find out the details on the different baffles. I love mine the way they are...nice deep rumble.

I called vance and hines and the guy i talked to said the competition baffles were only recommended if you had juiced up the motor or for a bigger motor? That sounded odd because they list them as an option on there website for the styker with the twin slash exhaust?

My replacement baffles came with the cotton not on them. So i installed them without cotton and rode around the block. You know how without baffles, every shift it rumbles while clutch is pulled in until yo shift up? Well without cotton all the small little holes on the baffle "whistle". It sounds like complete sh$t without the cotton.

I also loved the sound without baffles at IDLE, but didn't like the sound it made while shifting up. I had to shift super fast in order or avoid the sound it made. I just keep the baffles in for now, and most people I meet say it is already too loud.

Can’t imagine wanting these pipes to be louder. Mine already scream, especially with the intake sucking so much air..

Keep in mind that these pipes are made to work with the bike for optimal performance. If you start altering the components the compression might change and decrease performance.

Mike at V$H told me the difference between the stock and competition baffles was the muffler packing around the baffle screen.... and sure enough... when my new baffles arrived... that was the only difference.... that is why the cost the same.

So the thing about using them only on a heavily modified engine or upgraded one is nonsense

Can you please share your experience with the new baffles compared to the stock onrs

The comp baffles side by side the stock baffles are identical in every way... the stock baffles have muffler packing around them. just a thin sheet of everyday motorcycle packing... original packing is held on by high heat tape... I recommend using wire if you re do it yourself. I had a terrible issue with the stock baffles "collapsing" in on itself (small tube welds broke and slid into large tube causing a Plug like issue". V&H rep Steve Darrow sent me out a new set of comps. I Love my twin slash... just had a baffle issue, but V&H fixed the problem.

Thanks for all the great feed back

I Tried a used 2011 Stryker. I’m hooked
The bike had the staggered black Vance and Hines pipes with fuel programmer.
Then, for just a little more I found a new old stock 2011 for not much more.
So…Besides sounding and looking really cool what kind of performance difference
Can one expect from the stock and the Vance pipes.
How significant is the performance

Nope not at all. Haven’t noticed any issues. Somebody else complained about that but he was wearing bell bottom jeans….
Ha i just read this.. ass hat!! If you have shorter legs, then your legs / pants will touch the pipes.

As far as performance boosts, without a programmer you will see a drop in power.

I'm 5'6" and I don't have a problem with the twin slash. Of course I didn't keep the stock pipes. I bought pipes and had them changed the day I picked the bike up from the dealer. They are loud.
