Just wanted to quickly write up my experience with the Kuryaykn Throttle Assist and Bar End Weights.

To make a long story short, THEY DO NOT FIT!

I purchased part numbers 6284 and 6287. Kury's web site says they will fit, as well as Phat Performance and Cruiser Customizing.

I tried to install the Throttle Assist and Bar ends (6284 and 6287), and they DO NOT FIT!!!! The bar end plugs are either a slightly different diameter or thread. One plug seized up half way in. I couldn't even get it back out with a pair of vice grips. Given, I shouldn't have put that much torque on it to keep going, but I just thought it was a tight fit since it was a bar end.

So, I've got the plug under the grip, so it's not noticeable, however I can never use anything in the bar end. Good thing the grip is slightly longer than the bar end, otherwise that could have been ugly.

To make the story worse, Phat Performance is giving me a hard time returning the product, since Kury says that it is supposed to fit. However, on the back of the package, Stryker is NOT listed. I'm not sure if the diameter of the bar end changed between 2011 and 2012 or what...

I am awaiting more information from Phat, but it's not going well. I will keep you posted as to what happens.

That sucks man. Can you answer a question for me, what is a bar end what's it's purpose? The reason I ask is that I have avon grips, kuryakan throttle lock and a avon throttle boss and my hand is to wide to fit on the grip comfortably. Is a bar end like a spacer so to speak where I could mount the throttle boss to the end of the bar end so I can get my hand on the grip.

The bar end plug (the one that is stuck) is a threaded insert that goes into the end of the handlebar. Then the throttle assist, and bar end weights were supposed to thread into the insert.

A bar end weight adds about 1 -1 1/4 inches to the end of the bar, and is supposed to help with vibration.

Here is a pic:

Which throttle lock do you have mounted? I am looking for something different now, since this didn't work...

I installed the end weights (#6238) and throttle boss (#6250) on my iso grips without any problems whatsoever. Although, this isn't the cruise assist so I can't comment on that, but you would think you'd be good to go. Hopefully everything works out man!

I bought the ThrottleMiester for the stryker. They installed in maybe 5 minutes. And the work awesome. They weren't cheap though.

What's odd about this is that you say they went halfway in and stopped. Machine thread taps would have stopped within a couple of turns if the thread was wrong or incorrect diameter. My guess is that the thread shaft on the bar ends are too long, or you have crud in your handlebar threads that caused this.

Are you able to remove them from the bike to have a look? Now you know: if something needs to be forced on, you're probably doing it wrong ;) I've wasted $$ on this notion too. So don't feel too bad!

AH, that's why those fit... that would be a nice option. I am thinking about the helmet lock bar ends.
I really like the helmet lock bar ends I picked up! They look great and are functional! - (and I was disappointed the bike didn't come with at least ONE easily accessible helmet lock...)

It came with a helmet lock/holder, it's just not easily accessible. There is a tab under one of the sides of the seat. You have to remove the seat to hang your helmet. Whoever designed that should be :laser:

The stock grips would make my hands go numb with or without gloves. I switched mine to the iso grips without the weights and have no problem at all.
With the throttle assist, it acts as a bar end weight. You needed to add one to the other side to balance it out. I ride with the ISO-flames right now, and don't have much trouble with my hands going numb either... I want to add the bar-end helmet locks though. That should help even more.
