I've been working with a sissy bar manufacturer in So Cal for a few weeks on a Stryker set up. I live in Chicago, which has made things a little harder, but I think it will be worth it when everything is done. I got a set of prototype mounting brackets today which I plan to try and fit this weekend. If everything is all good, I'm hoping that we'll see the finished product soon thereafter. Their stuff looks very cool with more of an old school or chopper look than the stuff that is out there now. They have been very cool to deal with so far, so I thought I'd give it a mention on the forum.

I've never posted a link before, so hopefully this works.

To update, I put the bracket prototypes on my bike last weekend and everything looks good. It looks like they are pretty close to being done. Ginz would like a few more pics with the two up seat and then I believe they'll have everything they need to go into production. I agree with you guys on the look. I was going old school sissy bar or none at all right from the beginning.

I'll update as I find stuff out.

Sorry about that. I just exchanged emails with Ginz yesterday and forgot to update the thread. I let them know that I recently dropped the mock up brackets off at Fed Ex and that they should have them back soon. The hold up has been me getting them returned, sorry.

They bolted right up no problem and we got all the final measurements that were necessary. Although I didn't get a date, I'm certain that they will have them available in a matter of days not weeks. Something they said made me think that we may be able to begin pre-ordering, but I'd have to double check that.

I'm psyched about their stuff and can't wait to see the Stryker with an old school sissy bar. Should be good.

So maybe I'm missing something here but can someone explain to me why it costs so much for these things AND the brackets? I've shown welder friends pictures and the don't understand either?

Just curious???

I guess if you expected to use them as backrests then I can see some of the cost being wrapped up in safety testing and weld inspection. From my perspective I don't plan on having anyone on the back of my bike so the sissy bar is for looks and someplace to strap a dufflebag on trips.

Thanks!

I only ride solo, and would be totally interested in something that attached via the passenger footpeg mounts and ran up just behind the solo seat.

Attached sort of like this:

But shaped like a taller version of this:

I ordered my new sissy bar from the guys at Ginz Choppers (www.ginzchoppers.com) and should have it Saturday. I'll put up some pics as soon as I have everything installed. Checking their website, it says that they are good to go and are now taking orders for Stryker bars and mounts.

If service matters to you, I can honestly say that these guys could not have been nicer to work with.

I would like to order the sissybar but I'm not sure that the mounts would fit if I already have the saddlebag support bar. It looks like it attaches to the same area. Do you think it would be possible to put the saddlebag support bar with this sissy bar?
