What flaws have you discovered about your Stryker ?

I can honestly say that I have only one thing that I do not like about the Stryker and that is the lag in the drivetrain. Some people refer to this as slop. I also have a Harley Shovelhead, which has absolutely no lag no matter which gear I am in. At first I thought this was a difference in torque in the two bikes, but now I am not so sure. Maybe it is a difference in gearing. To overcome the problem, I have learned to slip the clutch slightly especially when shifting from first to second. This is a very minor fault and I have to say that the Stryker is way more fun than the Harley and I really love it. The best part of it for me is the accelleration. The fact that is the best looking bike out there is a big plus ! I recently read a review on the Ducati Diavel in whcich the writer praised the bike's performance but was not so complimentary about it's appearance. His closing comment was, "At some point you have to park the bike and look at it". I agree.

I have had at least 20 bikes prior to this one and the Stryker has been my favorite thus far, although I've modded the **** out of it I would have been content if I had to leave it stock
Only flaw I see was the position of the horn...just ugly.
Yeah, gotta agree on that one

Agreed. but I have that ugly canister on the other side so at least I have matching ugly. lol.
And that lag in the drive train that canyon1 spoke of I have heard other newbees to this bike say the same thing.
But even though this is a cruiser I have found that you can not treat it like a big boat type cruiser because it wants to get up and go right now. It demands a little more aggressive rider than most cruisers. So the lag isn't so much in the mechanics of the bike as it is in the lag of the operator to twist that throttle and slip the clutch and get er done. In fact my first time on this bike I went around the parking lot at the dealers and when I stop I said "man this bike is tight and has instant response and has no lag at all.

I took the canister off. It really makes a difference without it. Looks much cleaner.

I thought so too so I took the nut off that holds it on and found a pre-existing hole that tucked the horn up under and out of sight. Problem solved.
Regarding the horn, let's not forget the hound of that thing. It sounds like it should be on a scooter. Definitely gonna swap it out before spring hits.
If we are talking aesthetics, the swing arms are a punch in the eye. Seriously, it's like they got in a hurry the closer they got to the back of the bike. Whoever suggested the 2X4 look should be moved out of design.

Now that you got me looking at it i still haven't removed that ugly sticker on the left side swing arm but they hid the right side withe the big ugly pipes..
But anyway could you post some pics of some bikes with better looking swing arms? And now that we are picking on our bikes what about the lollypops and those big mirrors. The funny thing is when your riding you don't really see any of those things.
Gee is this bitching Thursday? ;D Like all of you there are things I don't like about this bike also. But then again those are the things that I've been changing for aftermarket. The problem is that everyone has different taste's. I put on the Kuri scythes mirrors, if Yamaha had those as their original mirrors, I guarantee that some on this forum would be complaining about that. I've never seen a bike that I like everything original on it. Good example was, I loved the Honda Fury, but hated the back tire and shaft drive. Thats why the aftermarket makes so much money and our new bikes end up costing us $2000 plus more then what we took it off the lot for ;).
Gee is this bitching Thursday? Not just Thursday, it's that :'( :-\ :-[ :p ??? biker PMS part of the season.
Toby, as far as the lag, I agree, I find that the more I ride the less I notice it. I also believe it is operator error!

As for the things not liked, I don't know of any stock bike from any manufacturer which doesn't have things I would not change or I just plain old don't like. As for the Stryker, I just love my **** bike!!!!!

Lag? We don't have no stinking lag! :)
Lag was my biggest complaint on this bike, A new exhaust and autopro tuner took care of the lag. It is non existent now. The appearance issues like mirrors and such are just taste so I can't count any of that stuff. I think Yamaha hit, if not a homerun over the fence at least an inside the parker. Sorry for the baseball reference, it's that time of year. Lets play two... ;)
BASEBALL!!?? Nascar !!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

So true.. How could i be so silly as to not mention that. ;)
Way too short kick stand. Constantly waiting for my bike to keel over. What ever became of good old fashioned center stands?

Ya Bozzly, when you think about it we ALL fell in love at first sight and saw nothing wrong with it then and our first ride was like getting a virgin because this bike is literally a virgin to the motorcycle world, But like any good relationship as time goes on you notice ways you can make it better. :)
