What flaws have you discovered about your Stryker ?

I can honestly say that I have only one thing that I do not like about the Stryker and that is the lag in the drivetrain. Some people refer to this as slop. I also have a Harley Shovelhead, which has absolutely no lag no matter which gear I am in. At first I thought this was a difference in torque in the two bikes, but now I am not so sure. Maybe it is a difference in gearing. To overcome the problem, I have learned to slip the clutch slightly especially when shifting from first to second. This is a very minor fault and I have to say that the Stryker is way more fun than the Harley and I really love it. The best part of it for me is the accelleration. The fact that is the best looking bike out there is a big plus ! I recently read a review on the Ducati Diavel in whcich the writer praised the bike's performance but was not so complimentary about it's appearance. His closing comment was, "At some point you have to park the bike and look at it". I agree.

7500 miles and mine still clunks.... I've just gotten used to it, there is no mistaking it for any other gear than first
I like the clunk. Lets me know when I am in first. Anybody out there NEVER pulled away from a stop in 2nd thinking you were in 1st? ;)

Oh Ya, This old lame brain has done that a couple times! Makes ya feel like a real a$$ starting out in 2nd with a group of riders. CRS syndrome! LOL
I've started out in 2nd one time. One contrary to what the reviews say it's not that smooth. Also I've never felt a clunk in 1st and wonder exactly what you guys are feeling? Is it when it engages all the way? And at what speed are you at when the clutch is all the way engaged? And am I the only one that has not felt this?

toby i think they are talking about a clunk type feeling when you downshift to first when slowing to a stop. Mine seems to do this every now and then...not a big deal to me. Lets me know im definitely in first

You know the break discs are designed to shift and they make a clunk most noticeable on the front. Wonder if that's being mistaken for gear clunk? You can actually feel it and hear it when rolling the bike back and forth ana aplying the front break?
Mine clunks very hard when shifting into first, whether from neutral or from second, Moving or stopped. Its a very hard clunk. Kind of shakes the bike a little. People I ride with can hear it from their bikes while next to me....even over V&H Pipes. with the clunk, Its true, you definatly know when your shift into first.
Happens with the Raider as well ... it's just part of riding for me now
The wife asked about it yesterday while riding ... I said you just make it part of the experience.
If thats the my biggest complaint.........Makes it very easy to love this bike

Yes that's normal with all bikes, some more than others like Harleys but you can't hear it because, well you know the answer to that. ::)
Not to nit-pick, but it would be nice to be able to read the odometer, time, gas guage etc. in the sunlight. I can live with the gear clunking as long as it is not destroying the transmission. Time will tell.
I can't get mine on the centerstand :p

I needed a good laugh. Thanks.
I would say that the key location is slightly annoying. Would be better on the side as to allow more storage room below the shield.
I kept reading this blog and thinking BS, clunk i can deal with, horn lets be honest after market pipes and revving is louder and more fun, pipes....see above. But Stewie you may have nailed this, i really dont like the key placement.
I had played with the idea of changing my key location. :-\ If I changed my triple tree out they said the key wouldn't work in its present location.
Agree with you guys on the horn and the stock pipes sound, I want to add the stock headlight bulb, It really sucks especially on the hi beam. I live in a rural area with lots of trees and at night it turns very dark and this stock bulb just don't seem to be that bright. Plus my night vision is not the best, I'm changing mine right away. Already ordered a brighter bulb.

Mine is very bright. Make sure it's set up correctly.

My only sore spot on my bike is some of the welds look like runny dribbles.

I would get it checked out or compare it to another bike. Mine is rediculously bright.
