Is it just me or do anyone else forget what gear they are in from time to time when shifting :-X ??? ? Maybe Yamaha should add a tach or gear indicator on the next year model. :-[

You might want to try this to get the engine sound to level out a little better - I've noticed that if I run the bike up to let's say 80 mph and hold it there it sounds like it's working hard or I need to upshift - what I do now is if I want to run 80 I run it up to 85 and then slowly roll off the throttle to 80 and the engine seems to level off - doesn't sound like it's working too hard....just a thought.

Yea, it's the only tricky one... because your go into 5th after 90-190kms.... so the revs get noticeably higher... however, when I play with the clutch a little.... I can tell its in 5th

LoL. I'm always looking for 5th gear. I thought that was just me. I have to admit the throttling down tip does seem to work.

+1 on Roadkills Reply. I do the exact same thing go above where I want and then back off, seems to level the bike motor out a bit.
