Love my Stryker, but the only thing I’m really wanting is a tachometer. If you are going to run the bike hard through the canyon roads it really seems a nesesary gauge. Has anyone installed a tach on the Stryker? If so can you share pics & info. thanks, Terry

I have a question about ppl posting question. When one post a question that there is a thread about whats the big deal of posting the same question is because to keep the site clean and not doubling up the same question? Does it slow down the site?? The reason I ask is because when someone post a question and other member say do a search first a person might feel bad like they did something wrong or stupid for not doing a search first.. I just asking to learn..

Thanks

Just people on the internet taking things seriously. Pay no mind. :p

My take is, if it hasn't been posted for a while and its not on the first couple pages, might as well discuss it again. If you're tired of it, you don't have to participate.

Back to the OP, though - I wanted a tach when I first got the bike, too, but I wanted pipes more and I didn't want to clutter up the handlebars. I'm used to it now, don't even really want one any more.

Where’s the Tach!

Just my .02 fellas and definitely not trying to be rude at all, what you will find is many of us are on the site regularly to help and get help, what happens is when you click on the new posts ya wind up having to sift thru alot of stuff that has been already covered, you'll find most all of the members are nice folks and willing to help on most anything and I can assure you there was no malice intended, some of us can be smart asses at times but it's all in fun, please don't be discouraged

Actually your case isn't that bad. While there are a few other threads regarding tachs, it hasn't been beaten like a dead horse yet. It's when we get 50 different threads on the same questions over and over only to be answered exactly the same. For example: which tire size is the best, which exhaust is better: cobra or V&H, why is my Stryker chugging at acceleration?

I was messing around and like to post stupid pictures. Truly no offense unto you :)

I'm a tech adviser on a Yamaha snowmobile forum and over the years have seen the same questions asked over and over again. I normally try to help by posting links to past threads which discus the topic. Sometimes searching a topic can be painful and it's easier to ask people that have spent a lot of time reading past threads and have the ability to filter out junk. This thread is a good example of worthless info if a person did a search for "tach".

All in good fun- But when I go to help someone with a question, I have to do the search to find the thread for them so that I can post a link or picture,- So all in all- We are doing the simple search for them. And all I did was enter "Tach" in the search and waaLaa! Sorry- Only had 1 Beer tonight.

Wow, I'm proud of you ... I'm usually sarcastically angry enough sober, I've got a breathalyzer installed on my laptop to keep me from posting drunken rages on forums where people might say something that gets my ticker revved!! LOL, beer is good and people are crazy, and I agree 150% with your comment!!!

The man does kind of have a point. I put in one word into search "tachometer" and resulted the following within 1 second:

http://www.yamahastarstryker.com/index.php/topic,1814.msg27064.html#msg27064
http://www.yamahastarstryker.com/index.php/topic,2014.msg30319.html#msg30319
http://www.yamahastarstryker.com/index.php/topic,493.msg5921.html#msg5921
http://www.yamahastarstryker.com/index.php/topic,2533.msg39076.html#msg39076
http://www.yamahastarstryker.com/index.php/topic,107.msg891.html#msg891
http://www.yamahastarstryker.com/index.php/topic,870.msg12279.html#msg12279

So the time it took me to sift the garbage and post these links was roughly 3 minutes. It's seriously easier and faster to use search and get your answers within minutes, instead of posting a new thread and waiting for anyone to answer. Like in this case, it's been 11 hours and 15 replies and this post is the first to actually answer the OP's question with links that actually contribute to the thread.

No I'm not trying to be mean or rude, I'm just sayin'.... :)
