I know that it goes on the gas tank! But when you're filling the gas tank, where does it go?

I just took my first ride on my new Stryker today. When I stopped for gas, I found myself standing there holding the gas cap with no place to put it! I didn't want to put it on the seat (but that's probably what I'll do in the future). I ended up placing it on the ground next to the bike. My last bike had a hinged gas cap - very convenient.

So where do you put yours while filling the tank?

I sit it on top of the gas pump with the key in it , and the beauty ring form L&M that is attached with maganets.

My key ring is big enough that I dangle it from the clutch or brake lever.

Excellent topic, I've had the same problem. I put it on the curb around the pump the first few times and just use the seat now. I've tried to be careful, but it's probably only a matter of time until I get some on there. I'll have to give this some thought now that I know that others have some kind of plan.

Same here... just sit it on the pump. Once you're done hang up the hose and grab the cap and roll on.

usually on the clutch lever as my key ring is big enough.. props to above who said it first. i think zews.

anyways.. hey Urban.. where did you get your LED kit.. they look brighter than mine.. and look to be the same amount of lights i have. good look though.

I also put mine on top of the pump. I was annoyed by this at first because I also ride a sport bike and the gas caps on those just flip up.

Since I never get off my bike to pump the gas, I usually look down and find a clean spot at the base of the pump to set it down with the key in it. When done pumping, I pick it up make sure no dirt is on it and put it back on the tank.

My last bike had a flip cap, sure do miss that... but not a biggie...

My helmet has a compartment to put the gas cap when fueling up ........................................ not really I also have always set it on the pump.

Not sure if it works for the Stryker, but on my raider the gas cap fits perfectly in the gap between the brake lever and throttle.

IN New Jersey, I just get Habib to hold it. Truthfully I put it in my front pocket just enough to hold it at the top and not get lint on it. That way its annoying enough that I wont forget to put it back.

I really though this post was a joke at first, but with all the responses I guess it's ligit. Mine goes on the gas pump with my key in it. Not going anywhere after that unless I put it back on.
