Hi guys,

I live in the Montreal area where motorcycle thieves live fat and well. For sure, I would not want to see me Stryker end-up in their hands.

I do not own a garage and I am planning to park my bike in some plastic shed in my backyard. But I do not feel that the thin plastic door of the shed will protect my raven from thieves.

I am thinking about making a large cement base and embed some large UBolts in it to lock my bike. But it might be overkill… Any idea?

Honestly, this it one thing that I would do to slow them down. I would mount a motion sensor with a light for the outside and a micro-switch on the door that would trigger a school bell. lol.. I don't know how electrical savvy you are, but to power the lights and bell would be controlled by a switch in house. Turn it one, when you go to bed and turn it off when you go to the shed.

Hope this helps..

If they want it, they'll get it! The best you can do is slow them down and make they're life miserable. Hook up an electrical source to any metal parts so they get shocked. Or a flame-thrower. :)
or try to figure out a way to install a trunk monkey...

For a serious repsonse... you could try your u-bolt idea and get yourself a Kryptonite NY Fahgettaboutit chain. If they still get it with that bad boy on there... there wasn't much else you could've done to stop it.

A security system?? Cmon this is Canada... The best thing you can do in the summer is a motion sensor light and a door sensor on the shed and in the winter run a heavy chain through the rims with a big lock. Thats the only way to keep sleds safe in the summer around here. A thief sees that chain and doesn't have a welder to cut it they just give up.. Those bike thieves in eastern canada would laugh at an alarm

I don't really know my stuff with steel, but what kind of large U-Bolt could I use to make those almost impossible to cut without a torch? I know that there is good chain though ...but I wonder what kind of steel u-bolt shapen should I embed in the cement?
