I started using Pinmaps.net to mark New York Riders.
This looks like it would work but I only played with it for a few minutes. Couple of questions if you know the answers:
1) I'm assuming we have the same admins on the new site as the old one etc.
2) Looks like the map itself can be shared but people cannot add their own pins so maybe all the admins would have edit capability and make this a sticky etc.
3) Did not see a way to do a mass import from a file but maybe that is an option(be easier on the admins)

All in all worth a try if people are interested and willing.
Note: You could give a specific or general address just like before.

We've been waiting over a month for them to restore the gallery and map...from what I've gathered is we tell Mo and he tells the IT guys....

I think what we have here is an "As is warranty"
I don't expect anything to change for the better regardless of how long we wait. What we have is fine but any extras are on us to create and maintain.

I say we just create the map and a sticky to it and get the thing rebuilt. As long as more than 1 person has edit capabilities we should be fine.
I really thought the map was nice especially if you couldn't exactly remember someone's logon but knew they were close by etc.

I believe you can let anyone pin the map. Its a option when you share the map.
Could be true. I sort of missed that because even for an IT guy I think the following message is a little vague.

Anyway, can someone try the link and post back?
I'm not saying to use this map because maybe one of the official admins wants to make it(and probably name it something different...) but once we do it we would have proof of concept and could go forward.

From a standards standpoint(poor sentence there...) I'd suggest we use the same pointers as the original map(blue=boy, pink=girl and green= you don't want to disclose or cannot tell like Pat from SNL)

OK. I tried. I had to type in the link since it was just a picture. It will not let me pin unless I login.

My mistake. I didn't actually share the map. Sorry.
But, yes, you will need to create an account to add a map pointer. It's quick and easy.

Tested under another id but again if someone can try the link and 2nd that it works we can send an email to one on the admins and see how they want to proceed. Maybe we could get it added under the quick links section...
