Ok.. So I got the Hard Street slim bags a while ago and they have been sitting in the box.. Been waiting to get them painted and honestly just completely forgot about them.. Well I am looking to get it done, but now I am looking at brackets.. I love the idea of quick release, however I hate how they stick out so far from the bike.. Anyone have recommendations on brackets that give a nice tight fit?

The red bike shows the look I am trying to get:

I don't suppose there are any quick release that give that tight of look right?

I have the same bags and went through the same issue as you. I wanted quick release but it put them much too far out from the bike. I ended up deciding getting them to sit in closer was more important than quick release and ended up using the same base plate of the quick release brackets and just unbolted the quick release portion of the bracket so I had just the flat steel back plate and drilled the two bike mounting holes through the bags and steel back plates then bolted them directly to the bike using the spacers that came with the brackets to get the right fit. I have been perfectly happy with them ever since and have not had any real reason to ever remove them except for maintenance.

Can you fit a half helmet in the slim bags? I want hard bags, and like the slimbags, but need to be able to put my daughter's helmet in them

Man that looks nice. Kinda rules out a quick-release backrest for me though which I use often...

Do you guys have any pics of the inside of these bags? Are they large enough to fix an XL leather jacket?

Also, does anyone have the ones for the Raider? http://store.hardstreet.com/hahrsl.html Looks like they are 10" tall instead of 12"
