Hello all,

i am in love with the looks of the stock exhaust , although i was set to buy the twin slash staggered soon but after receiving the bike two days ago i don't want to change the exhaust any soon

i want to increase the rumble and deepen the tone of the exhaust a little bit for safer and stylish riding :)

which mod do you recommend to start with, knowing that there is no going back i can't decide which shall i do first or do only

kindly help me decide

[1] 4 x half inch holes at 12,3,6,9
OR
[2] using a hole-saw and an extension i drill out the center of the exhaust

thanks in advance

The reason why I am considering the hole saw is that it will not change the looks of the exhaust at all, while on the other side if I did the half inch holes I will need to spray them with a heat resistant black which I am afraid I won't be able to find here in egypt

I did the hole saw approach(7/8ths down the center) and all went well. The sound is definitely different from stock but as for the difference between that and the 4-5-6-8 holes I'll have to run into someone that has done it to see the difference. Since nothing else was changed not difference in power just sound.

Am thinking about adding 5 holes in the spring as well using a step drill bit. I like the look of 5, not for any other reason than looks. Using the step drill bit I can get clean holes and go from say 1/4 to 1/2 in "steps" and then listen for the best sound.

In the end I'll probably end up getting a slip-on but I figured this is an easy approach since I actually like the looks of the stock exhaust so if the sound/performance is there I'll stick w/ them.
Plus I want to use the Warrior passenger peg extensions and those won't work with some of the full aftermarket pipes:(

Drilled center with 7/8 hole saw, sound is just right not to loud good deep rumble. Has nice back flow sound when you let off of throttle and still looks stock which I like. Don't like look of holes that much.

I started with the center hole too. I used a 1" hole saw. It definitely makes it sound better. I later took the same hole saw and put one more hole directly above each center pipe. That made it sound much better! Plus, because of the overhang of the "slash cut" look, you really cant even tell the extra holes are there unless you crouch right behind the bike.

That sounds like a pretty good idea, I'm gonna give that a shot. Maybe I'll make a before and after video of sound.

I was skeptical about drilling 4 1/2" holes in my exhaust just because at first it sounds like such a ghetto mod. After reading a lot of good reviews here by people who had done it I decided to give it a try and holy ****! It sounds awesome! Should have done it as soon as I bought the bike.
