Yes I am this indecisive about things :p :-X You all probably have more experience in the mods for cruisers than I do and whats going to make the biggest difference, although I'm aware this is mostly superficial and visual.

I might get flamed for this but: if youre going for visual, no matter what you mod, if you still have the stock mirrors, the bike still looks stock. Just my .02 ;)
Can always paint the mirrors yes shape is same but changes the look of them.... I would go with the seat then you get form and function instead of just eye candy.

I do keep on running through my head that I could buy the things to paint my plastics for 25 bucks and then buy the seat and get the eye candy down the road but is the seat THAT much more comfortable?

I didn't vote because I feel I could better help you make a decision if I just gave you some things to consider. Consider your comfort first and what ever it needs for you to ride safe. Then if you plan on a passenger comfort would be next. Back bar, peg extension seat etc. then when all is comfy bling and/or performance.

Toby is right and that is the way I'm doing my bike.... Safety and comfort first, if you and passenger are comfortable you are going to enjoy the ride more and possibably be more alert to the dangers instead of being distracted by how bad your a$$ and back hurts. As far as the brand of seat I would have no idea what to say, I just have the factory comfort cruise dual, it's not great but alot better than what came with it, which I'm thinking on bringing both in to have better foam put in and/or get the air hawk seat pad. I would agree with getting sissy bar/back rest , even if you ride solo just so you can strap bags or just any extras to it.

Toby that is a really good thought on things. I think that might be the way I go with this whole thing. Comfort is a huge and bling is just that... bling.

Toby is a old fart ;D, so of course he thinks comfort. (Just kidding we are not that far in age dif) If I want comfort I'll stay at home and sit on my couch. ;) I'm for the look of the bike, so I would spend my money on what catches my eye and sets my bike apart from others. To change the seat at first makes no sense to me, because the original isn't great, but is not that bad to spend limited money on one item that really won't change the look. Painting parts is just that, paint. But change the look of the grips, a radical mirror etc. now that where my money goes first. Its like having only a few hundred dollars and changing the back tire before its time. 240 or 250 really. Great if you need a new tire but just for bragging rights when you really can't see the difference. Had a Stryker sitting next to mine with a 240 and you could not see the difference. So I'll wait for my tire to die.

I am going to say your wrong on the rear tire Mylife. During our 4 Stryke Poker run last week, all of us noticed big difference standin at rear of the 4 bikes and easily see the 210, 240 and 250 sizes. Especially the 210. 240 is great for improving the handling wothout going to radical.

Sounds like to me you did say I was wrong. ;) Did you see the tires on the same bike, same rim? It has been shown that on our rim there is little wideness added (it is mm added), but really is just transfered to the hieght.

I'm with To by. Comfort first then looks, especially if you have some one on the back.

I went Performance first (i.e. exhaust, PC5 and Air intake) which also is for looks. 2 birds 1 stone :)

Then I went comfort (Mustang seat) which is very comfortable.
Not the best looking thing which is why I dressed it up a bit :)

Now I'm onto the "bling" phase

I've had 3 different size tires on my bike and have the experience of seeing them and riding them first hand not just from pics in the gallery. XVS and Vision both have original 210, Son has my previous Avon 240, and Mine has the Avon 250. Definately noticable difference in width and ride characteristics.

I say Mustang Seat, just put mine on the other day. If you go for a ride and your ass and lower back starts to ache, than the ride sucks. If the ride sucks then you start to find faults with the bike. But there really aren't any faults with the bike, it's just the crappy stock seat that makes you think that. Believe me all the other stuff will come sooner then you think because once you start modding your bike, you can't stop. ;D
