When you purchased your Stryker, how many test drove one?

Got interested in this bike when a friend of mine picked up his first bike (shadow phantom). Once I sat on it, I fell in love. Same day, I came home talking about it, I got a flyer in the mail to test ride a stryker ("Yamaha's next big thing!") and get a free pair of oakleys. It was like fate was telling me yes. Only dealer around here that was in the demo program (NOT the one I normally deal with) jerked me around and wouldnt build their demo bike for me to ride. Had alot of other stuff to do, would probably have it up and running in a week or two. "But if I wanted to buy it (only black one they had) they would get it ready by that evening." Told them to shove it and bought it from my trusted dealer. No test ride, but def no regrets. 8)

I already knew i wanted to buy the stryker before riding it. I had stopped by the dealership so the wife could test fit a few helmets so when i did buy the bike she could ride too. The salesman told us that they just got a demo in if i wanted to test drive it. Well of course I took it for a ride... got back and bought it that day! Couldnt wait any longer. haha

So listen here is the deal. Who would buya bike without test driving! That is absurd. I walked in to the dealer witha pre approve loan, and said, I only buy if I can test drive. I test drove about 5 bikes that day, went home and thought about it. Waited a week to see if I still wanted a cruiser, went back and test drive the Yamaha FZ8 just in case I still had the itch for a standard. None the less, after test driving the stryker for a 2nd time, I knew it was the one. Again only complaint, is it's ****ty stock exhaust.

I think the mediocre stock exhaust is across the boards on almost all metric cruisers and probably even on Harley's to some degree. Probably the most common first mod. The only bike I ever bought without a test drive was my 1986 vmax, bought off the showroom in 1986. At the time it was the baddest bike you could get, so I didn't really think it would disappoint......it didn't.

I bought my stryker from Honda of Redlands, good people, they took the bike off the floor to service for a battery and a look over, then told me to take it for a test ride to make sure I wanted this bike, after a quick ride on the freeway, my vulcan 900 custom se was out, the stryker was in, enjoyed the whole experience, not like any dealer I ve ever been to, just good people.
