I’ve been trying to figure out why I like twisties and high speed sweepers….don’t get me wrong I like fast straight aways but not as much…but can’t really figure out why I like the twisties and sweepers better.
• Is it just because I can?
• Is it the adrenilin rush?
• Is it because I like to push the limits of my bike?
• Is it because I like to push my limits?
I’ve asked other riders why they like them but never get the same answer…So do you know why you like them?

Whay do I like the twisties?

I think it goes back to when I was a little kid and that one crazy uncle would swing me around and I'd get that funky feeling in my stomach and my mom would get scared, now I get that funky feeling and my wife worries

I like twisting roads for the man/machine interface you get when negotiating them. My preference now is to do that with style and grace, not necessarily ultimate speed. At 60+ years I guess I'm slowing down a bit, having dropped a bike twice may have something to do with it as well. Still want to do Tail of the Dragon again and Clingman's Dome runs, on the bucket list.

For me it has to do with the few twisty roads around here are more to see. They usually follow rivers and go through trees. 99% of the roads are straight and only have a few curves in them which are mind numbing, a person can only look at so many fields and pastures before things get boring.

Turns are what motorcycling is about for me. A good twisty road is like your personal roller coaster, except feeling you get when you are afraid the thing is going to fly off the tracks is a real possibility..........pure adrenaline!

I love them mostly because we don't have many in Florida so the rally is my only opportunity
to do this type of riding. It has given me a whole new respect and appreciation for my bike. I had
no idea I could throw this thing around like I do and I really love the tight climbing turns. Real fun
love those and also the nice high speed sweepers.

I don't know if you have done this one but it looks fun. "Tail of the Gecko" slightly west of you. Check it out.
