It sounds like a lot of people on here have lowered their Stryker. But nobody really indicates WHY they want to lower it. I'm pretty short (about 5'7") and I have no problem reaching the ground at a stop light with one foot flat on the ground. Is this more of a styling mod? Does it improve the way the bike handles? I must be missing something, so let me know!

I have not done mine yet but will sometime in the future. For me it would be to make the tire closer to the fender, they sit to high from the factory and they do look a lot meaner lowered.

Thanks all. Being "height challenged" myself, I would consider lowering so that I can put both feet flat on the ground. I'll look around on the forum for photos of bikes that have been lowered to see how it looks. THANKS!

Most people who lower the bike also end up putting a bigger tire on, which counteracts the lowering and increases the chance of rubbing? But the bike does look bad a$$! No one wants 4" of gap between their fender and tire, thats too Honda Shadow :D So I'd have to say looks, because if you think it actually rides better on a tire that you cant run to the edge of the tread??? I would love to know how that works? Don't get me wrong I'm still trying to figure out how to get as low as possible and the best ride quality. If that dosn't help read up on all the posts and get completely confused. ;D

I lowered mine strictly for the looks. The benefits of it being easier to handle in my yard and driveway was a bonus. And so was being able to stand up of the seat with both feet flat on the ground. I couldn't do that without it lowered. I am only 5'5" but could reach the ground with both feet flat footed without it lowered. As for it handling better I don't think it does but it has a better feel in my opinion. Oh and it does slow you down a bit in the corners because you hit pegs easier but that's ok with me. I needed to slow down a bit anyway because I definitely was taking advantage of the power that it has. Lucky for me cops are rare where I live.

Did you guys all went with the PCS lowering kit?
I have the PCS links set on 2 1/4" drop with the stock 210 rubber and I love it. I'm only 5'8" and it really helped me get my right leg around the V&H Big Radius rear cylinder header pipe while sitting at red lights. It also looks so much better and compliments the “chopper-esk“ look of the Stryker IMO. The only negative is I scrape the crap out of my Kuryakyn SwingWing pegs. I’m going to install my Avon 240 in another month or so and that will raise the rear end a ½” so maybe that’ll help with the peg scraping.
