Ok so I am thinking it might be good to buy some winter gear now while there are tons of sales going on... I want a leather jacket and would prefer one with some arm and shoulder pads which I have on my mesh jacket and my old sportbike jacket.. are there any Star jackets with pads, or any other just normal jackets? I was trying to look on the web and didn't see much about them

C'mon Mike, the summer jacket you have now is fine for the winter. You know it doesn't get that cold here. To me the leather gets cold and stays cold.

lol not that cold but that mesh jacket lets all that air flow on me.. I really liked my old leather jacket but it was made for a gsxr.. im sure this bigger engine will keep me warmer but don't have much meat on my bones, plus I think leather looks a lot better than mesh

We got our leather jackets from Leatherup. I like buying from them, unfortunately half the stuff in their catalog is usually 'out of stock'.
It also depends on what your budget is. If you have any dealerships or motorcycle stores in your area, you are better off walking in, trying stuff on, seeing what fits and what you LIKE, then write down the label name, and go see if you can find it online cheaper ;)
that way you know it will fit right and be what you want when it arrives.

Can't say I've ever seen armored leather bike jackets. Good luck. I think it would be **** to try to move in. My leather bike jacket is thick enough it doesn't need armor. (and my mesh I pulled all the armor out..you can have it if you want). Maybe you can sew it into a leather???

OP, I've had great experiences with ICON leather jackets. To to Revzilla.com and check out the black leather models. They come with armour and they are very comfortable. My go to jacket is the Icon Victory hero jacket in black. It's been replaced by another model now, but they all have great venting, and comfortable winter liners. I wear my icon year round.

http://www.leather.com

I bought my mesh jacket at Leatherup.com and on my second ride a tooth from the main zipper broke. They told me since it was used, go have a tailor fix it and they would reimburse me $25. 3 tailors said it would be minimum $50. (The jacket was $100) Leatherup said send it to them (my dime) and they will fix it.. I ended up removing some of the teeth and got it working again.
I have bought and returned several leather jackets from them.
I then went down to San Diego Leather Jacket http://www.leather.com and the quality is 3 times that of the jackets I had ordered from Leatherup. Most of the jackets are made in house and you can have the customized them how ever you want.
Sorry this is so long, hope it helps!

awesome thanks guys... yeah I like the armor in my mesh jacket and my leather one the armor was actually a good arm rest, course back then I was sitting on a crotch rocket..

I just like the armor so if something happens maybe my arm wouldn't be broken, I will have to check out those sites and also my dealer
