Last week I replaced my stock horn with a Wolo 619 Big Bad Max. The horn was kinda loud but sounded more like I was killing a cat. I called the company and had to directly with the owner. I explained the situation and he told me that there was a known problem with the baffel in some of the early productions models. He appologized for the inconveince and over nighted me a new one. I just got done mounting it and man is this F---ing thing loud. I was as to mount it where the stock horn was. I had to drill out the original bracket to acomadate the new bolt. I used the existing nor connection on the relay (supplied) and ran 16 awg back to the battery. If your a looking to replace your horn to let others know you are there(and to scare the $&@t out of them if not paying attention) I highly recommend this horn.

I removed the old horn and seperated the stock horn connector so it could be conneted to the relay. I then ran 2 16AWG wires from the battery. One was tied to the battery negative (ground) and one from the positive. On the wire from the positive I installed a in-line 20 amp fuse and connected it to the relay. The last 2 connections were one from the relay to the positive on the horn and the last was the wire directly run from the negitive of the battery to the horn. The wires were tie wrapped to the bottom of the frame and then snaked up under the seat to the battey.

It certainly is unsmall!
Oh yeah, if you like to drag your pegs you grind the horn off well before the peg touches the ground.
Oh that's a huge bummer for me. I grind my pegs all the time. I was thinking about trying to find a way to seperate the compressor from the horn and mounting one in the OEM horn location and the other in my CA charcoal canister bracket.

There is no way to seperate the horn from the compressor on this model. That was/is the nice part for me, a fairly compact one piece design with minimal thought on how to get it mounted. Thats not to say that it can't be mounted somewhere else on the bike. It would however take a lot more thought and work to reconfigure the wiring if you intend to use the existing horn switch.

Best way i can recommend posting up photos instead of trying through the site is uploading to a place like "Photobucket.com" once its on that site copy the image file link which should automatically be copied then paste it to the forum in your comments so you can get nice big photos like this!!

I have the Wolo Bad Boy and mounted it on the left side of the motor with a "L" shaped bracket which I attached to one of the chrome covers of the motor. My first attempt at this wasn't that great because the bracket I used was to thin and vibrated and broke. I went to a thicker metal and it works great, I also put a piece of 1/4 rubber behind the horn to stop any further vibration. I also put the relay in the chin scoop which allowed for me to use the stock wires for the horn without cutting into them.

Visionary do you have any close-up pics of your mount? From what I can see your setup looks great. I’ve never really liked the placement of the stock horn.
See what I can do today, I have to go out and wash it for tomorrows ride anyway. Half the time I forget to take pictures...
