I am in a dilemma. I have the only Stryker in the UK and am in a yamaha cruiser club. I have already let our Chairman (Kev's UK Raider S) ride it, but have now been asked by someone else.
I am reluctant as it is unique here and would be expensive to repair should anything go wrong.

Do you think I should say no to anyone else? :-\

That's a slippery slope. If you don't say no early, you either can't say no to anyone else or you really offend the first person you won't let ride it in the club since everyone else has. I say find a cute way to not say yes and let them figure out that they basically are getting a no. Tell them you'll let them ride it the "2nd Tuesday of next week" (wink wink) or "I allow anyone to ride it that I've been married to for X number of years, etc.

Just my opinion, but it's hard to get the genie back in the bottle once it is out.

Well from my personal experience, I'd say no. After swearing to me that he knew how to ride, I let my brother-in-law ride mine the first time he saw it. Lucky for me the Stryker has a built-in safety catch with the foot pegs. If it wasn't for that, he would have tipped it right over. Since then I have only let one person ride it, and he's the guy I ride with all the time. Since my stryker is the first bike I've ever owned, he let me ride his V-Star around a little bit before I went and bought it, so I could be more confident and not look like a fool riding it off the lot. After that I feel like I kind of owe it to him to let him ride it every now and then.

I'm with Fujums on this one .... once you say yes to one, then it becomes where do you draw the line in a club type setting.

I let my friend take it for a rip once ... then he bought his own Raider. My wife of course and that's it - she now has her own Stryker and has no desire to ride my Raider

Generally No, but I let my Son, Son-in-law, and good friend ride it. These 3 are a very dependable and reliable and let me ride their bikes also. Depends on the person asking and I have no problem saying No to anyone I don't want riding it. But I see your dilemma in the club setting! I would have let Kev try it also but not with other club members knowing. Hind sight is always better!

My CBRs, I let pretty much any of my friends ride. I don't care about them especially. The Stryker, no. It's my baby.

The only person to date that has ridden my Stryker is my dad. But come on, the guy taught me how to ride 15 years ago. And how to drive. And how to do anything else worth doing, come to think.

Tell them that now that you have personal mods, seat etc. that it is part of YOU now and due to respect to your husband you can't let no one ride it. And besides that, you don't want to chance having something happen to it right now and take the chance of it being in the shop and ruin your summer plans. Tell them maybe when you get back from the states you will reconsider. 8)

Considering this is the first street bike I have riden, and knowing what I a time i'm having of it, I would say NO WAY. After having my license for four years but with my only riding experience involving offroad bikes, there are thing i'm still not comfortable with so there is no way anyone is riding my Stryker, although I probbaly would allow my DAD to since he was so envious of it after following me home from the dealership on his Honda 1300cc bike. The 'Step Mom' would be a no go though...

I have let one person ride my bike. He was a freind and also has a Star 950 and an R-6. While he is was on my Stryker I was riding the R-6... Oh man I forgot how much fun the little crotch-rockets are. But honestly it depends on the person, who well I know them, and of course if the are still riding. If they haven't rode a bike in several years, that is an instant NO..lol..

I admit I was nervous as **** when I let little Amanda ride her around the parking lot, but I have a hard time saying no to that girl lol. I knew she could ride, but I also knew if she dropped it yours truly would be the one picking up the tab.

I just kept saying over and over in my head..."please don't drop my bike...please don't drop my bike..."

Yeah I would, but depends on who it is, my brother in law has ridden it and I would let my little bro ride it, **** he was gonna let me ride his mean streak before I even had a permit. My daughter I would but only in a parking lot. But remember you have the right to say no at anytime if they get upset about it F'em then they have no respect for you or your things.

I think I was saying... PLEASE DON'T DROP THE BIKE when I rode it home... Newbie in more than one expression of the term..

But, I have to say, I have a cousin with the stock chrome pipes sitting around, so as long as the person riding it dropped it on the right side... I wouldn't mind so much..
