I stopped by my local Yamaha dealership today and had an interesting conversation with the salesman. I was looking at the FZ8 and asked him when the new FZ9 would be in stock. He told me they should be able to start ordering them in the next few months. I said I thought it was funny how the FZ9 is going to be cheaper than the smaller FZ8 it's replacing. He mentioned that Yamaha is actually about to redo all of their pricing across the board. He said that sales are not good and corporate has finally figured out that raising MSRP a few hundred dollars every year just because they change the colors is simply not working out for them. He mentioned how the new R1's are almost $15,000 and no one is buying them because that is just stupid expensive. He said we should see some big changes in the near future even on current models

I just traded in my 2011 FZ8 for a 2011 (new) Stryker. Prices are REALLY low right now and they are going to continue to drop. I got $5300 for my trade in and you can get a brand new 2013 FZ8 for $6499 before you 'wheel and deal'.

Picked up my Stryker for $8200 and I've heard that prices are going to continue to drop. Very few bike manufacturers are seeing good sales right now.

I try not to think too much about it... I got mine for $9995 in Sept 2012 and have put on over 6,000 miles of smiles in that time, so I'm happy with my purchase.

I plan on having my Stryker for probably 8+ years. Saving another $1,000 would have been great, but it is what it is.

Unfortunately many people on here had to Pay full price for the bikes, so some of us (including myself) dont like hearing about all of your good deals. Seriously. At least we could brag about how long we have been riding them :thumb:

Consider yourselves Lucky,

I bought a used American repossessed Bike for more than you guys bought your new ones for even with the dollars close to par.

New Striker up here goes for $12,889 + PDI & Fright then good old 13% tax on top of that.

Well worth every penny, even of my wife doesn't think so :biggrin1:

Ya, no crying here. Every day gas goes through my motor I get a bigger smile on my face. I paid full price in late October 2011 for my 2011. Dealer wouldn't budge, but I couldn't find a blue one anywhere near me, in fact I had to wait ten days for delivery of it. What would have made me cry is every day I couldn't be on a Stryker waiting for a better deal.
I think it's great that other are now able to buy bikes for closer to what I think a 2 wheeled vehicle is worth.
So I wonder what the 2013 1300 deluxe will drop to?

If they want to increase sales they need to not only drop prices below what you can buy new cars for but also make them get better gas mileage than cars do. To me it's just ridiculous that four wheeled vehicles can get the same mpg as big cruisers and cost less.

No one is dropping the price on anything, everything is going up!
Harely is certainly following what you said. They been swopping parts from bike to bike, changing colors and calling them new models for decades and getting more money for them every year..:tsk:
