So I ordered my 30 tooth pulley from Yamaha Sports Plaza, a dealer and online parts retailer. On the 12th I get a order shipped notification. So I check my UPS account and it says order processed, ready for UPS. Ok, it'll likely go out tomorrow I think to myself. Fast forward to today and the order still has not been picked up or delivered to UPS. So I did some research and heard some nasty things about this retailer. Anyone here buy from them? What are your thoughts of the purchase process/customer service? UPS says estimated delivery is the 19th... but if it doesn't even get picked up until Monday I don't see how a ground package could go from Ohio to cape cod in a few days. Oh well.

So my order has shipped verification sent to me on the 12th still has yet to actually be shipped according to my UPS My Choice account. I'm no businessman, but shouldn't a shipping notification be sent when you actually ship the item? I've never waited 5 days for an item to ship after receiving a "Your order has shipped" e-mail with a tracking number. Sent the company an e-mail, so we'll see how it goes from here.

What i have found with sports plaza is they have some of the best prices but they don't actually have the parts on hand. When you order, they order from Yamaha. Once they receive the part then they send on to you. So it could take a couple of weeks longer then normal but they will get you the part.

It's one of those half dozen one way half dozen the other way. You want the cheapest price you have to wait for it. If you don't want to wait then don't order from them and spend a little more with someone that actually carries the parts.

The shameful part is I don't think they tell you that they have to get the part from Yamaha first. I find some ebay dealers like this too and it really peeves me off to order something and find out I have to wait two extra weeks because these people are selling items that they don't really have in their hands.

You will definitely get your parts from them but how long you wait is anyones guess. I would call them if i were you to get a solid answer. Pacific Coast Star is another that has great prices but nothing in hand and you end up waiting for. Nothing wrong with either of these places and they have great prices but you are going to wait for your parts. The question is do you want to get the great price and wait or pay more and get now?

I knew it was possible they didn't have the part on hand. My issue is you shouldn't email a customer saying they shipped your product and provide you with a tracking number if they didn't actually ship it. I don't mind waiting since I'm not in a rush for the part. I an worried about never getting my part and not being able to prove it since they say it is shipped but UPS is saying they haven't received it but a shipping label was generated.

Talked to them today, they claim that it was shipped and UPS must have not scanned the package correctly. Never heard of UPS accepting a package if it won't scan. Guess we will find out. I really don't want to go thru a claim process lol

I do a lot of work on Yamaha's and order from Yamaha Sports Plaza on a regular basis. They normally have the best prices on OEM parts and I always get my parts within a reasonable amount of time. Only once I had an issue with an order but after a phone call they resolved it quickly.

So it looks like the fault was with UPS, not Yamaha Sports Plaza. The part showed up today, literally making it all the way across the country without properly being scanned until it reached my local UPS distribution center for delivery.

For people having trouble getting in touch with them I recommend sending them an e-mail.
