Basically you find a remote that utilizes a 12 volt battery. Then solder wires onto the + and - points of the circuit board. Also solder the 2 connection points of the button so that it mimics the button being held down. Now just connect the - lead to a chassis ground and the + lead to your high beam + wire.

How it works is that instead of using the button to activate the controller, you are not essentially holding the button while applying power to the remote. This will send the signal just the same as if you were just pressing the button... but makes it 100% hidden. All you have to do is flash your high beams when in range and the door will open.

If you do a search for my build thread, I have a few pictures I took from when I did mine.

So would I be correct in assuming that if you use your high beams during the day that the remote would be constantly energized? Unsure, but I cannot believe that would lead to a long life for the opener device.
Still, I like the mod(both ways) since it's a nice clean job.

Most remotes time out after a few seconds anyways but yes, you are technically keeping it energized. I've had mine like that in my bike since I've owned it and haven't had any problems yet.

From what im aware on the flash 2 pass activation to open the garage (those that have used the product can correct me if im wrong) is that you have to flip on and off the high beams. kinda like high beam, low beam, high beam, or something to that nature. I have it one my bike but still know bike in my garage to give it a try. ^%$&^*&%^(* weather..... Oh well.... off to Hawaii.

I got my flash 2 pass for me and my gf off of Ebay. I kind of live off Ebay.

I think it depends on which one you use. Instead of using the ebay opener I made my own. If I pull up with my high beams on, then I have to shut them off first then flip them on / off to activate the garage. But every remote may be different.
