Got the new shift and break pegs in the mail today and after looking at our stock shift and break arms it looks like im going to have to cut off the rod where the rubber pad is now and drill a hole in the arm to mount the new pegs. Going to do it tomorrow afternoon and i will take some pictures and post if i dont mess it up haha.

Yup you need to cut them off. Best thing to do is drill them and tap them to fit the peg bolt. acts like a locking nut to keep the pegs from loosening up. Can't wait to see the pics.

Was thinking of getting new bolts because the ones that came with the pegs are not threaded all the way to the bolt head and the non threaded part is narrower than the threads so i would have a weak spot there.

All done... well with this project at least.

Well i got the pegs on today. I did have to cut the rod off where the rubber pad was and drill a hole through the shift and break arms. Worked pretty good. second one only took me about a half hour. I removed the arms to work on them since it was pretty easy to take them off. Pictures of all the steps so you can get a visual. Hope this helps people that wanted to do the mod feel a little more comfortable about it. Really the only hard part was getting the area flat where i cut it off. Don't think i got it perfect but it seems to have worked. Looks way more badass than the stock pegs :)

One other thing I learned when I did my peg change that those lower shift & brake lever assemblies can be bent(to a degree) without breaking. Just need to wrap some cloth around lever and put in vise and tonk with rubber or plastic hammer in the direction you want to go. Did this to get my pegs/pad aligned correctly.

Yea i noticed after i put the arms back on the bike they seem like they are at a slight angle. wierd because i didnt notice it before with the stock pegs on lol. Will keep the vice and rubber mallet in mind though in case it starts to bother me one of these days haha.
