Was going down a Very tight twisty road when I heard Zzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzz! Pulled off into the next dirt turnout to try an figure out what happend, maybe the fan hitting the rad or something? Finally figured out it sucked a rock through ALL the guards into the front pully cover and it was rubbing on the backside of the belt!!! Had to pull off the front cover on the side of the road to get it out! Don't ask me how it made it in there IDK! Now to see how much for a new belt?

Ya, just had it quoted at a good dealer I'd prob. get a break, but not a 500 dollar break! No aftermarket yet? All the damage is on the back side of the belt I'm gonna run it as long as I can and make sure the thing isn't splitting! Ya, I'm happy it didn't lock up that wouldn't have been good, don't think a chin scoop would matter,I assume it came off the rear wheel in a corner?

Yes, but I think what WLFPAK65 meant by a chinscoop is that the front tire could have thrown a rock at the Radiator. Chinscoop would have maybe saved damage!

That was one of my questions when I bought the Stryker- Yami Dealer here says they have only replaced 1 belt since they first had belts on Yami's and that was due to an accident. Seriously!!

When I asked they said, "see these black marks?" (There are several LONG black marks from burnouts with a Raider in the lot in front of the building). They said when people ask if the belts will hold up, Craig does burnouts with his. They said he has been through lots of back tires but no belts.

Thats funny, that was a test I was thinking of doing to see if it was still strong enough. I went out and checked it out all the way around it's only questionable in a small area and it dosn't go all the way across, just in the middle. If it does start coming apart it will start skipping first should give me a little warning. Hate to say it but I'm gonna start watching ebay for wrecked bikes being parted out. If anyone sees a used belt for sale please give me a heads up, if you don't need it. Thanks!
